Information on the 'Water For Elephants' US premiere

Mann Theaters website posted in their "Upcoming Premieres" section about a Los Angeles Water For Elephants taking place at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood on April 14, 2011. Here what The Official Water for Elephants page on Facebook had to say:
The April 14Th premiere in LA is what we are trying to execute. Robert is still filming for Summit at that time so we have not locked it in.
We will have one U.S. Premiere. We have two theaters reserved but until we have everyone's schedules confirmed won't make a decision
@Hibbits tweeted about a NYC Premiere on April 17th, but it seems that nothing has been confirmed
A couple more updates about the NYC premiere
We were hoping to have NY premiere on the 17th, that was the tentative plan. Due to Summit's filming, Rob may not be able to be there so we have another event planned in LA since he may be able to make that. We are in limbo until we hear which he can make.
We still have both dates reserved. We won't know which we are able to do until Rob wraps up with Twilight.

People are comparing this movie to Twilight. Why do you think that is?
Here’s what my guess is. There is a love triangle. There’s a young girl and two gentlemen vying for her attention. That’s probably the biggest comparison. Other than that, there’s a wolf in it. [laughs] There’s sweeping shots across the mountains in the trailer and there were some in Twilight, so I think that’s what people are looking at.
Any update you can give me on Breaking Dawn?
I’m here in Vancouver right now filming. The stache is here in all its glory. After this film, I’m not sure the stache in this form will ever return to my face. This has been a great gig for me. I don’t think that there’s any relief at all, if there were more books and more movies, I’d probably keep coming back. It’s a fun role to play and I love the peeps involved. As far as being sad, I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I’m certainly not going to be glad, though.

SunTimes Billy Burke knows he might be the most clueless father in history. As Bella’s pop in the “Twilight” saga, he never really has noticed that his daughter is, oh, dating a vampire.
“I know, I know,” says actor Billy Burke. “He doesn’t know. My character Charlie does have to resign himself to being oblivious.”
Especially now. In the two upcoming “Breaking Dawn” movies, Bella and Edward will make it all public. The “Twilight’ers” now are filming the last installment of the hit franchise. “He finds out and his entire world gets cranked upside down,” says Burke.
As for a vampire son-in-law, he opines, “The way Charlie explains it away is that he understands his daughter is her own person. She will do what she wants to do. She will go after what she loves. He respects that.”
Filming will conclude in April. “This is it,” Burke says. “There are no more books. I’m not sad. It’s been a good ride. It can’t go on forever, even though I’m sure in the hearts of the ‘Twi’ fans it will. I’m just proud of be part of Hollywood history.”

NEW beautiful 'Water For Elephants' still
In an exclusive photo from the movie, which hits theaters April 22, a sultry Pattinson moves in for a (presumed) kiss while Witherspoon appears to melt under his gaze.
The actors play lovers involved in a triangle that develops between their characters and Witherspoon's onscreen husband.

On April 20th 2011, Robert will share the big screen with the very charismatic Reese Witherspoon, in Francis Lawrence’s Water for Elephants. Filming took place last July. The 10 years that separate the young actor from the blond bombshell don’t seem to be a handicap, the chemistry worked.Interviewer: You seem very close to your partner Reese Witherspoon…?
Rob: I’ve learned a lot from being in contact with her, she is very patient, she’s a major actress, she has much more experience than I, therefore it’s normal that I take the time to listen to her. Without her patience, filming probably wouldn’t have gone as well! We laughed a lot also, Reese has a great sense of humour, the atmosphere is serious but relaxed. We’ve remained friends and we continue to see each other. It’s was an important meeting in my carreer. Apparently she was already a Twilight fan so she didn’t have a negative view on my work. I hope we get to work together again soon!
Interviewer: Supposedly you were very close on set
Rob: Yes, once again those are rumours. The press seems to say that I’m in relationships with all my on-screen partners. If I really seduced all the girls I filmed with, I wouldn’t have any friends that are girls left! (Laughs). I think that in the case of Water for Elephants it’s linked to the story, it’s a love story. I assume that everyone imagines that the actors are really in love, that proves that we do our job well, that we’re credible. Now that Twilight filming has started again no one talks to me about my relationship with Reese Witherspoon. You’ll see, it will be the same for the movie I’ll film after! You know I’m much calmer then everyone thinks. It’s the Edward Cullen effect!
Interviewer: We’ve heard you’re more comfortable with elephants than with women?
Rob: (Laughs) It’s not exactly that no! In fact the magazine Details had organized a photoshoot a few months ago and I was surrounded by naked women. The photoshoot lasted for more that 12 hours. For any guy that might seem like a dream come true but in real life it was very embarrassing. As for elephants, it’s a whole other matter, for the movie we were put in contact with elephants and one of them lifted me off the ground and carried me with her trunk. It’s the most magical thing that’s ever happened to me! Personally, I don’t get the link between elephants and naked women. Maybe it’s journalists that have twisted thoughts? It’s not a very gentlemanly type of comparison! Elephants are a child’s dream, women are a whole other subject.

With assistance from a careful team of alligator handlers, Robert Pattinson’s April cover photo was taken by Annie Leibovitz at an alligator ranch and hatchery in Louisiana. One of about 40 such ranches in the state, it works to protect and propagate the once-endangered American alligator by harvesting, incubating, and hatching the eggs of wild alligators, and by promoting the preservation of the Louisiana wetlands.
Shortly after Pattinson’s shoot, he found himself in a potentially more frightening situation: cornered by a crowd of screaming girls. (The daughters of a ranch staffer had assembled an excited group of comrades to ask him for a photograph.) The heartthrob obliged his fans and left a warm impression on the folks at the farm as well. The ranch’s founder and owner, John Price, in a phone interview a week after the shoot, remembered Pattinson as “quite the gentleman.

Rob to be interviewed by Ryan Seacrest tomorrow?
Ryan Seacrest mentionned on air today that he will be interviewing Rob tomorrow (March 3rd). We don't know if it will be live, recorded, phoned... Tune in tomorrow and we will find out.

Grain of salt, Bravo Magazine is not the best source, according to some Germans familiar with the magazine at Pattinsonlife. The interview was translated to German and then translated back to English, so even if it's real, things can get lost in translation.
They published a new picture of the junket, so we at least know they indeed met Rob in LA a couple weeks ago. This is the second interview from the junket that mentiona Rob adopting a dog (The Daily Record published an interview a week ago, they says he adopted A dog from a shelter, not the dog from Water for Elephants)

You look tired. Didn´t you sleep well?
The days of shooting are hard in my bones. Also I traveled last night in a private plane from the Breaking Dawn Set in Baton Rouge – Louisiana to Los Angles (3000 km) for this interview with you.
The „Twilight“ shooting seems to be very complex?
We shoot two movies at ones, so the shooting takes longer. I would like to tell you more from the set, but I´m not allowed to do so.
What we know is: Bella and Edward get married and she gets pregnant. How is your Kristen as a Mom to be?
I think the pregnancy its very becoming to her. The fake baby bump looks really authentic. Personally she want´s to wait before she get´s kids.
Lately we not only saw you snuggle with her, but also with a little dog. Do you have a new friend?
Yes, my partner from my new movie „Water for Elephants“ – a Jack-Russel-Terrier grow to my heart. He´s from a shelter and should have been turn back to the shelter after the shooting. I couldn´t do that, so I adopted him. Only the right names is missing yet.
How do you call him?
I just say: „Dog come here“ . He understands this and doesn´t move fromm y side. „Dog“ did a good catch, from the shelter to a moviestar. As we checked in at the hotel in L.A. he got a boul with luxus-water. I had to watch out for his pampering. Not that he will be a diva in the end.
Is he allowed to sleep in your bed?
Normally not. But sometimes, when he jumps at night in the bed, I am just too tired to remove him from the bed. I should be more strict to him.
Apropos strict: In „Water for Elephants“ your hair is a neat side parting. Do you like this better than your tousled hair?
Uhm....I think I look a little bit to well-behaved, what do you think? My hair seems to live a life of its own. The hairdresser on the set had to do much effort to get my hair this neat.
What look does Kristen like more?
I think the tousled hair (smirks)
